Artist's Comments
Our favorite trio lurking through the dark, wands out and -- "Lumos!" Not based on any particular scene, although the costumes are from Prisoner of Azkaban. (Harry's hair is from Chamber of Secrets --I just really liked the style in one photo -- and for his face I used references from both films.)
I felt like getting some practice in acrylics. Didn't quite come out as I'd hope -- the composition is a little funky and they don't quite look like the actors (close enough to tell what characters they are supposed to be, at least, I guess ...) But hey, I had fun doing it.
Next time I won't use so many photo refs -- it's turned out to be as detrimental as using too few! Oy -_-' I spent three times as long on Harry as I did on the other two; I dont know if that's because it was getting easier as I went or if I simply should have spent more time on them (or maybe less on him? LOL) And the background! OMG, what a pain! LOL
Incidentally, the original is about 4 times bigger -- I shrunk it down to what I thought was a good viewing size.
aow.... acrylics is really not easy..especially in little size.. but i see you made it in a bigger one
it's more evident at all...
but in fact it kicks I love the the relief of flesh
the only thing i notice is that you have used a little too much white in general and It would have been better used it with a point of the colour that you wished to clear up....The pure white as the black fills too much the image in all the cases.... I learned it this year ( )
but at all, nuff' said in the the others cases.
Really good work
