#Ghostbusters-FanClub's June 8th journal entry mentioned that it was the 26th anniversary of the Ghostbusters franchise and announced that they were having a contest to celebrate it. In the journal entry, there was this line: "Even if it's the Boys out for a Beer or Slimer eating a cake, you can come up with something." So of course my art muse, La, latched onto the idea of Slimer eating a cake, saying, "I bet Janine made the cake. She would be reaaaally pissed, but everyone else would be grateful that they wouldn't have to eat it." And so here we are. XD *EDITED TO ADD*: I won!!!

In order, from left to right: Louis Tully (the accountant; he was in the films and joined the cast of The Real Ghostbusters in the fifth season); Egon Spengler, Janine Melnitz, Winston Zeddemore, Slimer, Ray Stanz, Garrett Miller, Persefineathious (form the "Mole People" episode of XGB), Roland Jackson, Kylie Griffin, Eduardo Rivera, Peter Venkman, and Dana Barrett. I based their looks mostly on the designs from the Extreme Ghostbusters animated series (where Egon mentors the next generation of Ghostbusters), aging most everyone up a bit, as this takes place 12 years after the end of XGB. I also tried to stick to the colours they typically worse in the show, either in their ghostbusting gear or their casual wear. Although I did stick that cordoroy jacket on Egon (hey, he wore the tan jumper in the movie ...) and the grey one on Winston (I didn't want him looking like he stepped out of Miami Vice). And look, Dana's wearing Zuul's dress again! XD It's just so pretty .... I put Eduardo in Victorian garb (save for the jeans -- although they did have bluejeans towards the end of that period) because I figure he'd be into Steampunk, with Kylie's encouragement.

I used a ref from RGB for Tully and modified him to suit the XGB style. Dana was off the top of my head, since she was never in RGB or XGB. I put them both in because, like Slimer, I felt they should be in a celebration of the franchise. And I like to think that Dana and Peter managed to work things out eventually. Egon and Janine are together here, though I doubt she'll ever get him to the altar (unless she tells him it's some ancient pagan altar with magical properties). Persefineathious was something of a love interest for Garrett in the ep she appeared in, but she decided to stay with her people underground, helping them and her father; I like to think that eventually she realised that there was no reason she couldn't move back and forth between the two worlds. So in my head, she's a social worker, while Garrett's a full-time Ghostbuster, and they've been married for a few years now.

Eduardo and Kylie are married now too, I reckon, and are also both full-time Ghostbusters. Roland does some ghostbusting now and then, but he's mostly on the inventing & business side of things. I considered putting Siren in, figuring Roland eventually went into the containment unit and rescued her (as Eduardo once did for Slimer), but I figured there were enough characters here already. XD I do think that Roland's brother and Eduardo's nephew are now Ghostbusters-in-training -- they're in that crowd somewhere. Oh, and in case it's not clear, this shindig is being held at the very same hotel where the boys captured Slimer in the first place.

I roughly sketched everyone out individually, scanned them in, & "inked" & coloured it all with maaaany, many layers in photoshop (and 8 seperate files). The full-rez of this image is 21000 pixels wide and 6000 pixels tall, or 70 x 20 inches, at 300 DPI. Yes, it slowed my computer considerably. XD It also took me much longer than I expected to finish this.

Actually it turns out Dana did KINDA appear in RGB, when the second film came out there was a comic adaptation that they did but interestingly enough they used the designs from the cartoon and made a Dana animated version.

But still, I like your version better.

Thing about Syren was I thought she'd just stay in the Containment Unit with Stay Puft, Sherlock Holmes, and Drool. They could work as the Ecto-Ghostbusters and be like prison guards in the Containment Unit to make sure none of the ghosts were concocting schemes to escape.

I imagine seeing this many Ghostbusters in one place would give the manager a major panic attack; every time they've been at the Sedgwick, the Alhambra ballroom ends up in ruins.
